Yoga

Yoga means ‘union’.  It creates balance in the body through developing both strength and flexibility and is also a powerful tool in combating the stresses of everyday life by uniting the body with the mind and breath. 

A yoga class will take you through a sequence of poses, each of which has specific physical benefits. Depending on the type of yoga class, these poses can be done quickly in succession, creating heat in the body through movement or more slowly to increase stamina and perfect the alignment of the pose. Poses are mixed with awareness of the breath and followed by relaxation.

Beginners yoga

This class is a great introduction to yoga. 

For those wanting to learn the basics of yoga, including exercise, breathing techniques and a short relaxation. 

It will enable increased strength, flexibility and mobility as well as improved posture. Prepare to feel both energised and relaxed at the same time. 

This class is suitable for all levels, and perfect if you're looking to incorporate exercise and a more healthy routine into your life.

Power yoga

This is a strong, powerful, challenging vinyasa based class, which can be used to increase strength and flexibility. As well as having some fun with the postures. 

It is also suitable for beginners wanting a challenge.

ashtanga yoga

Ashtanga is a powerful and dynamic form of Vinyasa yoga supported by the breath. 

This class is based on the primary series and is suitable for all levels. The Primary series is a set sequence or poses which together help to open up the body and build strength, whilst also helping to still and calm the mind. 

Originally conceived by the ancient seer Vamana especially for 'householders' (someone who has a job, family and lives and works in society, as opposed to a monk), Ashtanga yoga offers an easy yet powerful way to build a yoga practice into your everyday life.
